What is 0-5k?

0-5k is a fun running group designed for complete beginners where we start with the basics and build up so everyone progresses together.

The group is aimed at those who feel they can’t run, those who have tried in the past but have struggled with breathing and those who are maybe already running short distances but don’t seem to be making progress.

You will learn:

  • How your pace should feel for you
  • How to breathe while running
  • How to focus on things to make running feel easier

The sessions are designed so that everyone focuses on their own performance and will receive individual coaching and support as well as support from the group. The thought of running 5km in just a few weeks can seem daunting at the start but it usually feels a lot easier by the time we come to do it.

No. In this group, we will be working on your form and as a result, you should start to find your runs becoming easier and be able to run further more comfortably

Yes. Progression in times from running a lot can be very limited. I will be able to help you to run more efficiently and you will begin to see a difference in your times

Yes! While we won’t be running 10km, the sessions will help you to step up the distance and possibly be able to run 10km better than 5km!

Yes! I assume nobody has run before in the first session and we start working on the basics and build up from there, progressing each week

It’s ok, you won’t hold anyone up. Everyone is encouraged to focus on how the running feels for them and we have a few breaks throughout each session so everyone gets a chance to recover and start again when they’re ready.

Speed isn’t important and so it doesn’t matter if you’re fast or slow. I will help you find the right pace for you so that it feels comfortable for you and you can make progress
