Nutrition
Regardless of whether your goal is weight loss, toning up, training for a marathon or triathlon, the key to achieving your goal is the right nutrition. Our eating habits affect the way we think, the way we act, the way we move so you can see its pretty important!
We are constantly bombarded with magazine articles and “celebrity diets” telling us the latest things to eat and avoid to get results. The biggest thing is actually the lies we are told along the way and all we end up is confused rather than lighter or leaner.
My approach to nutrition is to ADD to our daily eating routine rather than take away as this often leads to deficiency and a craving for certain foods rather than a need.
We need a balance of proteins, carbohydrates, fruit & veg, fats (yes, fats!)and good hydration.
The biggest danger in the food that we buy is NOT just fat, it’s sugar. Most pre-packaged foods either contain fat or sugar to give it flavour or act as a preservative. Next time you’re doing your shopping, look closer at the labels to see what’s actually in the ‘low-fat’ food you are buying
