Julian Hanmer (IT Consultant)
Since discovering the joys of exercise 10 years ago, I have shrunk my frame by 4 stone, which has made a tremendous difference to all aspects of my life. At the time I started training with Steve I had lost about 2.5 stone and was having trouble shifting any more weight. The personal training sessions have made a great difference in terms of shifting a lot more weight, increased muscle definition and fitness.

I am a very motivated person and train 5 mornings a week, so some people would question the need for a personal trainer. Even if you are motivated, training can get very routine and boring. Every session with Steve is different, introducing something new and pushing you that bit further. So if you think you are training hard now, see what you think after a PT session!

Personal training also polishes your technique, reducing the likelihood of injury.

Steve has brought me down two dress sizes since I started training with him a month and a half ago. I was amazed at how quickly I was able to get the hang of the exercises and how effective they were. Steve demonstrated every exercise and made sure I was doing it correctly so that I could come into the gym on other days and train safely and effectively. I had a bad ligament injury a year ago, and had residual weakness in my leg. Since working with Steve, I have seen a vast improvement in strength and mobility, and it continues to get better.

Steve made sure I understood each exercise, and was doing them safely and correctly so that I got the best effect from his programme He was also able to give me dietary tips and a lot of encouragement along the way. I would heartily recommend fitness Steve to anyone wanting a professional assessment and an exercise programme which will give great results (providing you are willing to put the work in!)

"I am 37 and I have Cerebral Palsy. Five years ago when I was working, I took a bout of flu which seemed to change my life for the worse. I developed problems with my balance and consequently, my confidence. The contract I was working on came to an end and as time went by, I lapsed into a rather aimless life dominated, I have to say, by tv. Eventually, when I realised this could not go on, by chance I met Steven Bonthrone.

Steven was offering his services as a Personal Trainer and it occurred to me that exercise might help with my sedentary lifestyle and physical condition. His weekly visits have indeed proved most beneficial. With Steven's patient assistance and advice, I now follow a structured programme of manageable exercises which stretches my ability whilst being very enjoyable.

My weekly training sessions with Steven has introduced me to an exercise regime which has strengthened my muscles; improved my flexibility and posture and is gradually re-installing my confidence.

Family and friends have noticed a difference in my appearance and the fact that I appear happy and motivated.

I look forward so much to my workouts with Steven. He doesn't mollycoddle me because of my disability but finds alternative ways for me to achieve things and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him as a Personal Trainer to anyone!"
