What would you love to be able to do in 2022?

Who would you like to be in 2022? The same person you are just now or the leaner, fitter, happier person you always say you want to be at the start of each year? Just before the diet starts and you rejoin the gym for the 15th year in a row.

How would you like your life to be in 2022? Same as 2021 or doing more of the things you love, doing things you’ve always wanted to do, doing things you never even dreamed of before?

It sounds fanciful, but it doesn’t have to be.

You can decide what you want for yourself, go for it and achieve it all. Nothing needs to get in your way.

All you need to do is decide what you want and then take the steps towards achieving it.

The only thing holding you back is you.

Most people wait until 31st December, or after the festivities have finished, then join the gym/start the diet/do the same things they’ve always done.

Don’t wait until January, START NOW

If you wait until January, you’re probably looking at around March before you’re really to start doing things you want. That’s assuming you haven’t got fed up and quit, like many people do.

If you start now, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running as soon as the bells ring in the New Year.

The good news is, you don’t have to make big, sweeping changes that are often unsustainable and, perhaps, normally get in your way.

Make one change, practice it every day for a week then add in another change and repeat this process. Within a month, you’ll have made 3 or 4 changes that will make a huge difference to you yet feel like they’ve been easy to do.

I always start with drinking 2 litres of water every day or hitting 10,000 steps every day. The changes don’t have to be big, you want them to feel easy to manage.

The key to your success is building momentum. Once you’ve made 3 or 4 changes and you feel the difference, you’ll be ready to challenge yourself more.

That’s when the fun and discovering what you’re capable of begin.
